Health and Welfare Committee

In 2014 WoolProducers established the WPA Health and Welfare Advisory Committee and extended an invitation to other wool bodies, including Australian Wool Growers Association, Australian Association of Stud Merino Breeders, Australian Superfine Wool Growers Association. This move ensures that there is representation and input across the entire wool industry in the expenditure of the health and welfare levy administered by Animal Health Australia. The Sheep, Camelid and Goat Veterinarians also has observer status on this Committee to provide technical advice.

WoolProducers questions AWI Board Nomination Committee transparency

WoolProducers Australia has questioned the transparency and independence of the AWI board director nomination process, following the announcement of the four recommended candidates from the Board Nomination Committee (BNC) today. WoolProducers now has no faith in this process or the entire Review of Performance conducted by EY in 2018.

Draft Export Control Bills Package 2019

WoolProducers Australia is supportive of the draft Export Control Bills Package 2019 and the five outcomes of the Package. We also support wool remaining a non-prescribed good and advocate that there must not be an impact on trade when the reformed legislation is implemented.
