Health and Welfare Committee

In 2014 WoolProducers established the WPA Health and Welfare Advisory Committee and extended an invitation to other wool bodies, including Australian Wool Growers Association, Australian Association of Stud Merino Breeders, Australian Superfine Wool Growers Association. This move ensures that there is representation and input across the entire wool industry in the expenditure of the health and welfare levy administered by Animal Health Australia. The Sheep, Camelid and Goat Veterinarians also has observer status on this Committee to provide technical advice.

WoolProducers recipient of traceability grant

WoolProducers Australia has been announced as one of sixteen recipients to receive a Traceability Grant from the Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment, to review current traceability systems used throughout the entire wool industry pipeline, identify gaps and weaknesses in traceability, and make recommendations to improve traceability systems for wool.

Submission on version 2 of the Certification Trade Mark Rules – Application No 1914662 – lodged by Humane Farm Animal Care

WoolProducers recommends that the ACCC do not approve the application from Humane Farm Animal Care to register the Certification Trade Mark no. 1914622 (HFAC CTM).
